Trybet is Baltimore's Mike Parker and Aric Rist. "Mood Setter" is their
second release as Trybet on Defective Records, and if it's anything like
the first, it's sure to cause quite a stir. That first self-titled ep
rocketed to the top of charts the world over, including Top 20 on the
highly respected Groove Magazine (Frankfurt) chart, as well as #1 or #2
spots on respected DJ's Tanith, Taucher, Paul Cooper, etc. lists as
well. "Belong" on that first ep has already been licensed to Groove
Magazine's 5th Anniversary CD compilation, sharing the lineup with DJ
Hell, Mike Dearborn, etc...
Mood Setter follows in the same vein as that first ep - dark moody
analog on top of minimalistic electro rhythms, with cool breaks that
tone things down briefly, then rip right back into the rhythm...Trybet
doesn't forget that their name comes from the merging of tribal rhythms
with Tibetan samples either; check out the vocal intro to "Effected
Harmonic" to see what we mean. All this from Baltimore - who'd of thunk it?
