Jordan Trais is the Chicago artist responsible for the music of Astrocat. This will be Jordan's third release on Defective, and with each one he has managed to coerce his synths into a funky soulfulness that could only emerge from the Windy City. In addition to his releases on Defective, Jordan has released a full length CD on Chicago's Binary Records, as well as multiple vinyl releases on Drop Bass Records, Communique , and Analog Records.

Originally focusing mainly on the Roland TB-303 and it's distinctive acid sounds, Astrocat still incorporates the little silver box in his music, but weaves in a multitude of other electronic textures as well. In a way, he comes very close to the true definition of techno: electronic music which makes you dance, yet evokes emotion and makes you feel a mood at the same time...
