major malfunction
.mangle, glitch & fsu in ableton live.
.version 2.0.1.

what is it:

an audio plugin that mutates your Ableton Live audio in real time, under your control

mutate with what:
retrigger
vocode
degrade
distort
delay
gate
reverse
slow
what's new in v2:

• new multi mode, allows for multiple effects per step
• in multi mode, allows for serial or parallel routing
• in serial multi mode, can rearrange effects in any order
• dramatic efficiency improvements compared with previous versions
• small bug fixes

• version 2.0.1 now compatible with OS X 10.7.x (Lion)

let me see it:
screenshot
let me hear it:

classic amen break - all effects selected randomly
change the whole character of your loop #1
change the whole character of your loop #2
change the whole character of your loop #3, with filter twiddling
check out the vocoder
vocal slicing and dicing
pad, using gate's new ramp parameter

i want to learn more:
read the full documentation, or ask questions in our forum
what do i need to use it:

Macintosh
- G4 667 MHz or greater, PowerPC or Intel (Universal Binary)
- Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.x, 10.5.x, 10.6.x, or 10.7.x
- Ableton Live 4.x or greater (earlier versions may work, but not tested) (8.1.x and greater with MaxForLive functionality is NOT supported)
- Cycling '74 Pluggo, Pluggo Jr, or Pluggo Runtime, 3.6.1 or greater (Pluggo Runtime is free)

why only ableton live:
because timing and sync optimized for Ableton Live (probably works fine in other hosts too, but no guarantees)
why not windows:

we have ported it already - however it really doesn't work well enough for us to feel comfortable releasing it. The problem is likely due to the differences of how Max/MSP behaves on Windows vs. Mac, or at least how it's behaving on those platforms with our code. Sorry for now!

i want to try it:
please note this application is now FREE, but is no longer supported; with the decline of the Pluggo platform and lack of its support for newer OSs and DAWs, your mileage may vary. Download here.
who made it:
Dan Nigrin & Defective Records Software
