24 PC1600x Presets to control devices on Creamware's Pulsar, Here's my preset list V2: BigMixer on channel 15 (6 Pc1600x presets) Dry-Wet Insert Rack 16 Mono Insert Rack ChOut Vocoder 14 Moonizer 11 (4) EDS8i 10 (2) MiniScope 2 (4) Inferno 3 Three-O-Three 3, (2) Saturn 4 DubSub 7 EZsynth 8 You have to assign all the CC#'s to the Pulsar devices yourself, but I made it easy for you: I named and programmed every fader and button on a Peavey PC1600x. Clearly ordered, they will make your Pulsar's BigMixer, Effects and Synths alive while you record and automate. Be sure to select "Use device midi-channel" in the controller settings page of Pulsar! Synths mostly assigned according to my Roland MC-505 frontpanel knobs. The rest -like mixers & effects- are logically numbered. Pulsar will save your assignments in two ways: if you save the device (not clear if that's possible in 3.1 yet), midi-implementation will be included. Don't forget to back-up your devices first, Pulsar will overwrite in order to save them! You can save assigned devices in a place or include midi-channel in name,... If you save a project, implementation will be saved within the project. No device-saving will be required. As far as I know that's the only way to save midi control in PulsarV3.1. A lot of effects have no midi-in, but can be controlled when used as insert, for example in the Ins Rack, BigMixer, Voco... I didn't include these 'cause this very depends on your own setup. You could use the 'Aux xL-xR' to control other effects parameters or panning. Edit these presets but remember: My presets use lots of the available CC# to Pulsar, so you will have to be carefull not to double-assign! Save different mixer- & PC1600x settings as templates for different projects. * * * * * * * * * * Some Preset descriptions: These device's implementation can be found in another file- read that for detailed info, the others are undocumented. They will be self-explicatory though. *** BigMixer Volumes: This BigMixer Preset has 16 faders assigned to a midi CC#. If you prefer to work with 'linked' stereo pairs, you can control 16 stereo tracks. Volume faders have a midi-range of 22-102, which is -41dB - 0dB. Pre-leveling them on your 'pre-amp' in the BigMixer will let you play them much preciser and prevents overload. Buttons send same CC# as fader, but acts like a -96dB/0dB switch. Used as a mute button, this saves me 16 CC#. *** BigMixer Master: MasterVolume and 6 Insert Send&Rtn Sends. 12 Aux Send, 1 Insert On/Off and EQ Switches on buttons. Adapt them to your setup, just rename the edited button, remove old assignment and reassign! *** Aux Channel Send presets: 16 numbered *** Aux Sends 16Stereo transmits 2 CC# at once, so they have to be assigned via Cubase to send one CC# only. Hint: record a fade, send CC# one by one. *** MoonControls+LFO: Here I assigned some basic Sys-ex for more advanced controls- like switch to LFO trigger source In3: Turns on 'In3' and puts slider-selector to 'In Gate'. Moonizer 4 EQ's: Puts Freq-Q-Gain-Mod 4 times on your faders. Tweak 'em! These Aux Sends are grouped in pairs, 2 CC# per fader via kinda sysex. Assign them by sending the CC# with a sequencer because Pulsar will only recognise the last CC# from the pair sent from your PC1600x slider. This was a way to assign the whole BigMixer to one preset of the Peavey. *** Vocoder Preset: All knobs on the faders, except for Chorus Speed. 11 ProgCh for presets and 2 Vocoder knobs on the buttons. Play on. *** Inferno: 16 faders and some buttons, check them out. Can also easily be used on other synths with minor adjustments to Pc-1600x presets. *** ... ******* O 0 | \ / x * * * * * * * * * * * * * atomic. jdknews@hotmail.com PS: Check my Rebirth presets.
