Hello here is a neat trick for the Midi adventurous the goal: navigate between 15 presets/control surfaces in no more than 2 button presses the idea is to make the PC1600x send program changes to itself 1- you need a midi patchbay with filtering (Hardware or Software). I use an Opcode 8 port se 2-make a "select editor" preset in PC1600x with the 16 buttons sending pg ch nb from 1 to 15 and button nb 16 send pch nb 00 all this on the same channel the PC1600x is set 3-set up a prg ch map where pch 0 = pc1600x pset 0 (in my setup this is the the mix surface :vol control for all my devices) then pgch1 = device nb1 pc1600x pset nb (tweak 4pole) pgch2 = device nb2 pc1600x pset nb (tweak Gforce) pch3 device nb3 pc1600x pset nb (tweak GR30) etc...then pg ch 15 will point to the famous select "mix surface" pset nb 4-go to each of the presets that are included in this trick (exept the "mix surface" pset .more later) and set button 16 to send the pg change 00 this will be the "go back to mix surface" button 5- goto the "mix surface" pset and set button 16 to point to the "select editor" pset nb 6-in utility midi filter : all (to avoid the dreaded midi loop we're done with pc1600x 6- program your midi patcher to allow a connection between the PC1600x out and PC1600x in I filter out anything but pg changes on the PC1600x midi ch 7- hook pc1600x in and out to your midi patcher's out and in 8-go to the "mix surface" preset button 16 takes you to the "select editor" preset. button 1-15 take to the different "devices tweakers" presets. button 16 brings you back to the "mix surface" preset, always navigate from a "global mix" page to any of my specialised synth, effect, sequencer ,audio mix, editors in 2 button presses enjoy Claude c.voit@vtx.ch PS: I really use this scheme for my live setup and I must tell you: it is soo fast and easy to remember, it is worth the time to program it with your favorite PC1600x editor and it could be done internally in a future upgrade.....
